Sueko Hasegawa obtained her B.A. in Sociology in 1944 from the University of Cincinnati. She returned to the University of Washington in 1950 and completed her Master of Social Work degree in June 1960. She worked as a social worker for Seattle’s Children’s Home Society and Ryther Treatment Center for 20 years. She married Shigeo Sumioka in Chicago in 1944. Sueko Hasegawa Sumioka is retired and living in the Seattle area.
