The Microforms Sets Guide is a database containing descriptions of over 100 microfilm sets held by the Microform and Newspapers Collections, University of Washington Libraries. The purpose of this project is to provide better access to otherwise often obscure holdings. The database is a work in progress and more sets will be added. The word "set" is defined broadly for the purposes of this project, meaning that any group of materials published on microform by a university or commercial publisher, scholarly society, library or archives may be included. Excluded are individual newspaper and periodical titles, and separate works issued individually. Many government document collections have been included, particularly sets that were acquired many years ago and may lack adequate electronic bibliographic control.
