SUPPORT FOR THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST ETHNIC AND SPECIAL

AUDIENCE NEWSPAPERS

Development of the Pacific Northwest Ethnic and Special Audience Newspapers Project is made possible by a combination of private and public funding.

This project was begun in 1998 with support from the University of Washington Libraries and the Kenneth S. Allen Library Fund.

Generous support awarded in December 2002 from the Pendleton and Elisabeth Carey Miller Charitable Foundation has allowed for additional preservation microfilming of the backfiles of 15 regional newspapers and a complete revision and expansion of the project website. This grant also stimulated additional financial support from the Libraries so that project development can continue. The Miller grant is testimony of the importance of local and regional resources and research, measurable evidence of local community commitment to preserving and understanding our own history. We are very grateful for this support.
