UW Engineering Library Standards Database

The standards held in the Engineering Library collection are primarily engineering related.

For standards related to other subjects, search the Libraries catalog. Other UW libraries, such as the Health Sciences and Built Environments Libraries may also have standards in their collections.

The edition held by the Engineering Library, may not be the most current edition. To check for other editions of a standard, search the Accuris Standards Store .

Several series of standards are held at the Engineering Library but are not entered into this database.
These series include:

• AASHTO
• ASTM
• Mil-Specs
• Mil-Stds
• NAS
• SAE J-series
• UBC standards

Check in the UW Libraries Catalog or ask at the Engineering Library Information Desk for help finding these standards. Most of the standards at the Engineering Library are located on the first floor of the Library in the Standards Area.

• ASTM Standards are now available online via the ASTM Standards and Engineering Digital Library. [UW Restricted]
• Some ASHRAE Standards are available online in read-only format. ASHRAE does not allow for downloading or printing of their standards.
• NFPA offers read-only access to their codes and standards. They require free user registration in order to access the documents, and NFPA doesn't allow for printing or downloading.
• IEEE standards are only available online from IEEE Xplore [UW Restricted]. We no longer have any print IEEE standards in our collection.
