Pacific Northwest Regional Newspaper and Periodical Index
The Regional Index contains citations from hundreds of newspapers and periodicals as well as monographs, theses, dissertations, scrapbooks, pamphlets and other ephemera dealing with all aspects of life in Seattle, Washington state and the Pacific Northwest from the mid-nineteenth century to the present.
The Regional Index began as a card file in 1936. At the present time, only a portion of the original card file has been converted and can be searched online. The complete card index can be searched by visiting Special Collections during its hours of opening.
The Pamphlet Files are, for the most part, classified according to geographical location. Pamphlet File items, including individual entries for persons in the Biography file, are indexed in the Regional Newspaper and Periodical Index
